Meet Artistic Masters On The Peak of Vancouver!
This first-time-ever, not-to-be missed event is a dream come true for art and nature lovers alike. Set atop scenic Grouse Mountain, the Artists for Conservation Festival is a 10-day international art, environmental and educational festival where you will not only see world class art, you can talk to the masters, attend workshops and watch live demonstrations all on top of the world.
- VIP GALA. The event kicks off November 4th with a VIP Gala dinner where world-renowned painter, naturalist, lecturer and author, Robert Bateman, will be a keynote speaker. The evening’s agenda is packed with a sneak preview of a documentary film and art exhibit, an awards ceremony, silent auction, live music and First Nation’s dance. - WORLD CLASS ART GALLERY. Over 50 master artists from around the globe are featured in a world class art exhibit, including world-renowned artists Robert Bateman, Guy Coheleach, Carl Brest van Kempen, Guy Combes Kelly Dodge, Alan M. Hunt, Terry, Isaac, Suzie and John Seerey-Lester.
- WORKSHOPS AND DEMONSTRATIONS. Ten days of inspiring art and environmental education with master artists, sharing their techniques and perspectives on art, nature, and their conservation work.
- ENTERTAINMENT. First Nation’s dances, live music, guest lecturers, guided gallery tours, and more.
- FREE. For the most part the event is free (except the VIP gala) however attendees are required to pay for the Skyride to get them to the top of Grouse Mountain where the event takes place.
- WORLD FILM PREMIER. The Festival will host the world premier of How an Artist Saved the Mountain Gorilla – a documentary film on art, conservation and the story of legendary explorer Carl Akeley who is credited with saving the Mountain Gorilla from extinction and founding Africa’s first National Park nearly a century ago.
- YEAR OF FORESTS. The theme of this year’s Artists for Conservation Festival aligns with the International Year of Forests (Forests 2011) as declared by the United Nations General Assembly to celebrate people’s action to sustainability manage the world’s forests.

Grouse Mountain
