Lonsdale Quay Market Celebrates 25 Years

North Vancouver, BC: It's been 25 years since Lonsdale Quay Market's grand opening on April 12, 1986, and we?re celebrating this milestone with our community on April 16 & 17.
Anniversary celebrations begin at 11am on Saturday, April 16, with carnival-style games and prizes. The day will continue with family-friendly entertainment, including a bouncy castle, face painting and balloons, roaming children?s entertainers, and a charity BBQ from 1-3pm.
North Vancouver musician Ben Sigston will perform at 1pm on the waterfront plaza, followed by congratulatory speeches by City of North Vancouver Mayor Darrell Mussatto, and President of Lonsdale Quay Market Corp., Gary Mathiesen, at 2:50pm.
The Vancouver Outreach Community Sweet Soul Gospel Choir will begin their performance at 3pm by singing Happy Birthday while Market Hosts hand out cupcakes to visitors.
On Sunday, April 17, the event will continue with more family-friendly entertainment, including a concert by the Adam Woodall Band at 1pm, and another charity BBQ from 1- 3pm.
Participation in activities at the Anniversary Celebration is by donation to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation.
The vision of Lonsdale Quay Market is to provide a truly unique retail market experience and a destination gathering place on the North Shore, while being an active partner within the community. This vision has been strengthened over the past 25 years of serving the North Shore and beyond.
In further celebration of our 25th year, Lonsdale Quay Market is proud to partner with Capilano University to offer a $500.00 scholarship to a business student who resides on the North Shore.
Lonsdale Quay Market shares in the entrepreneurial spirit embodied by owner-operated businesses on the North Shore. Today's students of the Capilano School of Business are the driving force behind the business successes of tomorrow, and so we are extremely are pleased to support their education through this scholarship as they prepare for their futures.
