During the fall and winter you have a number of indoor and outdoor options for ice skating on Vancouver’s North Shore.
Outdoor Ice Skating
Grouse Mountain outdoor skating rink now open.
A unique way to experience winter is to try outdoor skating on Grouse Mountain’s 8,000 square foot mountain top ice skating pond, the only one of its kind on the West Coast. Grouse Mountain‘s outdoor skating rink opens as temperatures allow, usually from late November to April 9am to 10pm. Access to the skating pond is included in your Grouse Mountain ticket/pass. Skate rentals are available at the Fireside Hut. Check the Chalet Cam for conditions.
Indoor Ice Skating
If you prefer indoor skating several Recreation Centres in North and West Vancouver offer public and family skating options from September to mid-March.
In North Vancouver, there are public skate drop-ins at Karen Magnussen, Harry Jerome, Ice Sports and and skate and helmet rentals are available for all ages. The Rec Centres all offer free parking. Ice Sports has three NHL standard size rinks. Check North Vancouver Public Skate Schedules

There is an Ice Arena located in West Vancouver near the Community Centre, with 15,000 square feet of ice surface available for your ice skating pleasure. There are number of public drop-in options, and skate and helmet rentals are available for all ages. Free underground parking is shared with the West Vancouver Community Centre and Aquatic Centre. There are also on-street parking options.
