Mountain Biking in North Vancouver
In the international sport of mountain biking, the North Shore has a well-deserved reputation for world-class riding. The steep slopes that frame the city are woven with a network of trails that offer everything from an easy outing on a rolling path to cross-country and extreme downhill.
There are three mountain biking areas on Vancouver's North Shore: Cypress Mountain, Mt. Fromme (sometimes referred to as Grouse Mountain) and Seymour Mountain. Both Mt. Fromme and Mt. Seymour offer awesome mountain biking trail terrain, and are very popular with the locals.
Old Buck and Bridal Path trails are excellent routes for
intermediate riders. Pipeline and CBC are both popular and classic North Shore rides. If you're a technically proficient downhill rider
seeking a challenge, it's best to check in with any of the North Shore's bike
shops. Pick up a trail map and chat with staff about what kind of trail you're
looking to ride - they'll point you in the right direction. Search for North Shore Mountain Biking Trails.

Road Riding
It's not all about mountain biking though. Road riders will find plenty of scenic routes on the North Shore's hilly roads and streets; and if you're feeling energetic both Cypress and Seymour Provincial Parks have paved roads all the way to the top.
The novice rider will love the paved, 10-kilometre, vehicle-free Seymour Valley Trailway through the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve. It's perfect for both biking (for those as young as eight) and inline skating, and offers spectacular views of Mount Seymour. You can find more North Shore beginner trails at www.trailpeak.com.
