Vancouver’s North Shore’s mountain backdrop means that the slopes of our three ski resorts and their accompanying eateries have some of the best views for your après-ski in the region. After a hard day of winter recreation whether skiing, snowboarding, tubing, or snowshoeing you’ll appreciate warming up those cold fingers and indulging in a good meal at one of these mountain after-party spots.
Remember, it’s called après-ski for a reason! Don’t sip and ski!
Altitudes Bistro, located right in the Grouse Mountain Resort is the place to be after a long day on the slopes. The bistro is on the mountainside 3,700 ft above the Lower Mainland and so has outstanding views to take in as you indulge. The chilled atmosphere is perfect for warming up in cozy armchairs by the fireside with friends, and the menu is built for sharing with dishes like GIGANTIC Mountain Nachos and Szechuan Chicken Wraps.
If you’re looking for something a bit more upscale, Altitude’s sophisticated sister is The Observatory. The Observatory takes fine dining to new heights on the Peak of Vancouver. The five-star dining menus include fresh, regional produce in dishes with a West Coast theme. The menu is a little more expensive but your trip up Grouse Mountain is free when reserving at The Observatory in advance.
For a lively après-ski session there is no better place to be than the Crazy Raven. You’ll find the fully licensed bar stocked with local craft beers on the second floor of the Cypress Creek Lodge. There’s live music and events throughout the season to keep that mountain high going!
Nestled in the middle of the Cypress Mountain cross-country ski trails is the newly re-opened Hollyburn Lodge. Along with their menu of evening appies, delicious burgers, and beer and wines you’ll find a weekly schedule of live music sessions. You can also enjoy fondue dinners here as part of the resort’s Snowshoe Fondue tours.
Come inside and refuel at the Rock Chute Bar & Grill at Three Peaks Lodge in the Mt Seymour Resort. You’ll find a classic mountain après-ski bar with a menu full of ‘stretchy pant’ comfort food like poutine, beef dip, and loaded tater tots made to be shared as you relive the day with friends.
