All Things Food on Vancouver’s North Shore

While what some would call the “festive season” is behind us now, the party atmosphere has certainly not left Vancouver’s North Shore, thanks to all the foodie-centric events happening here over the next month. Maybe we’re in the “festive season?”

Dine Out Vancouver

We’ll start with the big one. Canada’s largest food and drink celebration returns with special multi-course prix-fixe menus being offered all over the North Shore at some of our most popular restaurants, all coming in under $65. Just a taste of what’s on the menu from January 20 to February 5 can be found at Seaside Provisions and their inspiring creations around local seafood. The Lobby Restaurant at the Pinnacle Hotel is offering a DOV menu for each of its popular brunch, lunch and dinner services, while Bufala in Edgemont Village is tossing up their delicious takes on pizza and other Italian favourites. And, at Arms Reach Bistro in Deep Cove, their fresh, local and rustic fare is served up alongside one of the best dining views you can have. Reservations for these and other fabulous North Shore eateries are open now right here!

Lunar New Year

We’re excited to welcome in the Year of the Rabbit with our friends in the Chinese community on January 22nd, and if, like us, celebration definitely and always includes good food, there are plenty of options on the North Shore to get that happy, healthy and wealthy feeling that comes with the Lunar New Year. Westview Oriental Restaurant serves up a wide range of traditional Chinese and Szechuan Cuisine, including their crowd-favourite House Special Spicy Crab. Go for authentic Chinese Hot Pot at Lion Hot Pot on Marine Drive, or if you’re looking to dine at home with friends, you can’t do better than take-out from the North Shore’s Favourite since 1972, CC’s Chinese Restaurant.

Hot Chocolate Festival

That nip in the air will be with us for a little while longer, so it’s the perfect time to roll out the 13th Greater Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival. There are plenty of sweet spots on the North Shore participating in support of three local charities from January 14 to February 14, each with their own unique spin on this classic fave. Thomas Haas Fine Chocolates & Patisserie is whipping up a Tahini-Pockini, milk hot chocolate with tahini and a soft almond cheesecake on the side. And forget that nip mentioned earlier at BjornBar Bakery with Day Drinkin’, a pineapple and coconut-flavoured white chocolate, served with a pina colada meringue cookie.

Dine the Line

Translink and WestCoast Food have brought back their popular Dine the Line series for 2023. Two of the all-new foodie itineraries, all accessible by transit, include stops on the North Shore. The Dim-Sum to Dinner line takes you from Richmond for dim-sum to Burgoo Bistro and Tap & Barrel Shipyards for your dinner options. The Plant-Based Path, suited especially for vegetarians, vegans and health-conscious diners, includes stops at The Workshop Vegetarian Cafe, Buddha-Full and Jamjar Canteen.

Sip & Stay Packages

Now until February 28, select North Shore hotels are inviting you to pair a trip through all of the winter wonderland adventure available on Vancouver’s North Shore with a taste of BC craft beer, cider and spirits. A stay at participating hotels includes a $25 gift certificate to a local brewery, cidery or a distillery, often within walking distance. See the hotels and get all the info here.
