Vancouver’s North Shore, Naturally

Fall Adventure in Full Colour

The days may get a little shorter, but Vancouver’s North Shore remains long on fun well into the Fall season. With a temperate climate and year-round outdoor attractions to explore, plus all the comfort of a world-class dining scene and fabulous hotels at which to feel right at home, the North Shore makes for the perfect West Coast getaway—thrilling and cozy at once.

Even more, a visit to Vancouver’s North Shore is a chance to discover more about our world at renowned art galleries and museums, as well as Indigenous experiences where you’ll participate in and celebrate the storied traditions of local culture.

Taste the Harvest

Ideally situated between fertile farmland, fresh glacial waters and the endless bounty of the Pacific Ocean, it’s no wonder the culinary scene on Vancouver’s North Shore is garnering such attention. Eateries to warm your belly are everywhere, from the stalls of the Quay Market and Food Hall, to Anatoli’s locally famous souvlaki and Bhudda-full’s plant based comfort food. Indulge in your pumpkin-spiced latte at cafes such at Shipyards Coffee by the water and up the mountain at Delaney’s in the charming Edgemont Village. Of course, all that fresh water has made for a craft beer scene that has been booming in the last few years. You’re sure to find your new favourite porter or stout on tap at the many breweries of the Shipyards Brewery District. And if you’re in town November 1-15th, check out Craft Beer Week.

Fall Family Fun

Vancouver’s North Shore is perhaps best known for thrilling outdoor adventures against stunning natural beauty, and that doesn’t change just because the leaves do. Pleasant Fall weather means it’s open season on hiking the North Shore’s majestic forest trails—or flying down them on a mountain bike—or just breezily cycling along seaside paths. And world-renowned West Coast skiing usually arrives well before the official start of Winter to our three mountain resorts, just minutes from the city. If you or your family identify more as the indoor-type, genre-busting art galleries and historic museums are full of fascinating stories, both local and international.
