Comfort Food Destinations on the North Shore

November 6, 2019 |

As the days get colder everyone seems to look for comfort food to both cheer and warm them up.

Vancouver’s North Shore has plenty of options when it comes to delicious, warming comfort food to act as your central heating on a chilly day.

Burgoo

Burgoo is one of the ultimate places to go when comfort food is on the cards with a lineup of mac and cheese, grilled cheese, french onion soup, and delicious soups and stews.

3 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver

Troll’s

There’s not much more comforting than eating fish and chips by the water. Local legend Troll’s in Horseshoe Bay is THE place to do it. The “world-famous” restaurant is well known for its crispy fish and chips that it has been serving since 1946!

6408 Bay St, West Vancouver

Hachiro Ramen

A new addition to the North Shore in 2019, Hachiro Ramen Bar specializes in the Tonkotsu style of ramen. If you’re looking for a steaming hot bowl, you’ll find flavours like spicy miso, shoyu, and spicy vegetarian.

140 16th St W, North Vancouver

La Galleria

If you’re looking to carb-load head to La Galleria Fine Foods in Edgemont Village. Home to award-winning sandwiches, homemade soups, and fresh pasta and potato salads.

3055 Highland Blvd, North Vancouver

Rose Persian Cuisine

There is a large Iranian-Canadian community on Vancouver’s North Shore so you can find some really great Persian food! You can chow down on stews such as Mirza Ghasemi (Blended smoked eggplant, garlic, eggs and chopped tomato), Ghormeh Sabzi (beef with coriander, parsley, fenugreen, and red beans), and freshly roasted kebabs with spiced rice.

Check out our Persian Trail for more options!
