Beaches

West Vancouver Beaches

1. Ambleside Beach

One of the most popular beaches in West Vancouver.

Family-friendly with nearby playgrounds, a pier, concession stand, and the Seawalk.

Great views of Stanley Park and Lions Gate Bridge.

2. Dundarave Beach

Smaller and quieter than Ambleside.

Cozy beach with a pier, charming village shops, and access to the Seawalk.

Ideal for sunsets and peaceful strolls.

3. Whytecliff Park

Great for swimming, snorkeling, and tide pooling.

Rocky shores and scenic views of Howe Sound.

Popular for scuba diving and picnics.

North Vancouver Beaches

5. Cates Park (Whey-ah-Wichen)

North Van’s largest waterfront park.

Includes a small beach area with kayak rentals, picnic areas, and forest trails.

Great for families and paddlers.

6. Maplewood Flats (Low Tide Only)

Primarily a conservation area for birdwatching, but you can walk along the beach at low tide.

Quiet and great for nature lovers — not a traditional sunbathing beach.

Bonus: Water Access Spots

Deep Cove: While not a sandy beach, it offers water access for swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Great village vibe and cafés nearby.

Lighthouse Park: Rocky shorelines and scenic lookouts. Not ideal for swimming, but amazing views and hiking
