Family Day Fun on Vancouver’s North Shore

February 12, 2020 |

The North Shore is the perfect place to round up the family and spend some quality time for the BC Family Day long weekend. You will find activities to suit everyone from active adventures to educational encounters.

1. Family Fun on the Mountain

Hit the slopes on a family ski trip! The North Shore’s three top-class mountain resorts: Cypress Mountain, Grouse Mountain, and Mt Seymour offer ski and snowboarding terrains for families of all levels. Best of all, during the Family Day long weekend, you can access a number of discounts. Cypress Mountain Resort is offering a weekend full of family fun at their Family Day Festival!, Mt Seymour is offering free kids lift tickets with any paying adult after 2.30pm all weekend, and Grouse Mountain is partnering with CTV for a mountain of family fun including a pancake breakfast, family snowshoe tours, kids fun and special family day pricing.

2. Family Day at the Market

Go local and experience the best in B.C. produce with Family Day at the Market at Lonsdale Quay Market. The Lonsdale Quay Market not only has beautiful views of downtown Vancouver from its location on the water, but also offers a selection of over 80 specialty shops and services including a brewery, fresh produce market, and international food court. The day features an interactive petting zoo and fun kids crafts.

3. Get Your Skates on (for free!)

Did you know we have one of British Columbia’s largest outdoor ice skating plazas right here in The Shipyards of Lower Lonsdale? If you bring your own skates it’s completely free (although rentals are available) and the plaza is right in the heart of the action surrounded by coffee shops and restaurants for an apres skate bite.

4. Family Day Amongst the Treetops

The famous swinging bridge welcomes over 800,000 visitors every year who come to see, not only the bridge but, the Cliffwalk, Treetops Adventure, Story Centre, Kia’palano, and Living Forest. For Family Day Weekend only, BC residents receive a family pass valid for two adults and one or two children (6-16 years) for the price of $99* plus GST!
