Edgemont Village is a spot that invites you to park your car and wander. The pretty village of Edgemont is only a few blocks long, but its relaxed ambiance lures visitors from all over the North Shore.
Only minutes away from Highway 1 and down the road from Grouse Mountain on Capilano Road, Edgemont Village feels like a mountain resort town. The coffee shops and restaurants beckon you to sit down and enjoy a freshly baked goodie or a delicious sandwich.
There are almost 100 family-owned shops in Edgemont Village. Among them is Giftworks, which specializes in the work of B.C. artisans – potters, candle-makers and a host of others. Families with children will not want to miss BC Playthings, which features toys, art supplies, puppets, games and puzzles made locally and all over the world. Visit the curiously named 32 Books, its shelves packed with Canadian fiction, books about B.C., book club selections and kids’ reading.
Edgemont Village is full of places to sit and have a coffee, enjoy lunch or dinner after a stroll around the village or grab your beverage and sit on one of the many benches throughout the area while soaking in the mountain views. Popular spots are Bjornbar Bakery and Nicli Antica Pizzeria. From Aug 4-22nd, tour the Vancouver Mural Festival. See beautiful murals come to life with cultural, personal and historical stories by a wide range of talented local artists.
