This winter holiday season is full of fun things to do on Vancouver’s North Shore. You will be sure to find something to appeal to everyone in your family! Here’s just a sampling:
The Peak of Christmas at Grouse Mountain
Grouse Mountains annual holiday event is on now until Christmas Eve, December 24. Lots of family fun-filled activities include outdoor ice skating on the rink located just behind the Chalet. Not skaters? Then go for a sleigh ride instead.
There’s also Reindeer Rangers on site who will share fun facts about reindeer, and you can even meet Prancer and Dancer! Of course Santa will be in attendance at his Workshop. Why not have the entire family photo taken with him?

There’s a Elf Craft Station too, an Elf “selfie” photo station, and Christmas Classic movies screening daily at the mountaintop theatre. The SOS Gingerbread Village is a must-see, and when you’re there take the time to vote on your favourite creation.
There’s lots more activity taking place throughout the Peak of Christmas, so be sure to make it part of your holiday celebrations. You will see that the Chalet is all decked out for the holiday season and will make you feel cheery and bright.

Canyon Lights at the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park
Another annual event that is always truly a spectacle is Canyon Lights. On now, until January 3rd (closed Christmas Day Dec. 25), it’s something that kids of all ages will find enchanting. With hundreds of thousands of colourful lights covering the Park’s trees, Cliffwalk, the Treetop Adventure suspended walkways, and of course the Capilano Suspension Bridge itself, it’s a family tradition for many locals. And when you’re there be sure to do some last minute shopping at the Trading Post. It’s full of wonderful gifts and treats to share with family and friends this holiday season.
Village Christmas Trees & Festive Community Fun
Dundarave Village, Lynn Valley Village, Shipyard Plaza, the Village at Park Royal, and the Park and Tilford Gardens are other locations where you can enjoy seasonal decor and a fun family outing. Individually decorated Christmas trees, holiday music, live entertainment, and bonfires on the beach at Dundarave in West Vancouver, are just some of the activities that will show you that the North Shore is full of cheer this Christmas and holiday season.
Dundarave Festival of Lights
At Shipyard Plaza, at the bottom of Lonsdale Avenue in North Vancouver, you can also visit the Christmas Market for unique artisan gifts and holiday ideas that will be sure to brighten someone’s holidays.
